Digital Engagement Internship

Would you like to join our team? We’re offering a 30-day digital engagement internship over the summer 2017.

Saffron Walden Museum is committed to engaging and reaching out to its audiences through a variety of methods, including digital platforms. Over the past two years, big changes have been made to the museum’s website and the way we use our social media presence and as a result, the museum’s total service users have doubled. To build upon this success, the museum is offering a new digital engagement internship.

You will work closely with our Collections Officer (Human History) to create, prepare and upload content to the museum’s website and social media pages, as well as any other appropriate digital platforms. In return, we’ll give you training and experience in researching and writing digital content, with specific reference to museum collections, and experience of working a small museum environment. To apply for the internship, you must have attained or be working towards a degree in a relevant subject,  have a demonstrable interest in working in the museum sector, and have experience of creating digital content.

The internship will last 30 days. Working hours are negotiable but ideally will be three days a week, 10am-4pm. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 19 June 2017 and you must be available to start on Tuesday 4 July 2017.

If you would like further information about the internship or would like to apply, please email Leah or call 01799 510645.
