Hands on with History: Seaside Holidays 
Weds 26 July (Summer Holidays)


Celebrate the summer holidays with family craft activities at Saffron Walden Museum. Inspired by our current exhibition, Completing the Look, join us on the 26 July, 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm, to create your own seaside accessories. Choose from a shell or ice lolly pendant or badge, or a pair of flip flops to jazz up your summer style!

Usual entry fees apply: adults £2.50, concessions £1.25, under 18s are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No booking necessary, just drop in.”

Treasure Roadshow

Join us for a special Treasure Roadshow at the museum with Sophie Flynn, the Portable Antiquities Scheme’s Finds Liaison Officer for Essex; part of our celebrations of the Treasure 20 project.
 

Hands on with History: Stone Age Day

Join our Stone Age man to find out what life was like thousands of years ago! He’ll be setting up camp in the museum grounds!

Hands on with History: Shell Creatures

Come along to make seaside creatures from shells! You can use one of our shells, or bring along any you’ve collected on the seashore!

Open Heritage Weekend
9 and 10 September

Enjoy FREE entry to the museum all weekend for Open Heritage Weekend! We’ll be running Object Handling sessions in the galleries so you can get up close and personal with our collections!
 

Woolly Mammoth Fun Days
Weds 25 and Thurs 26 October (Half-Term)

Learn about these enormous creatures that lived during the last ice age and see a real woolly mammoth tusk!

Decorate our Christmas Tree

Make festive Christmas tree decorations – one for the museum’s Christmas tree and one to take home with you.
