Sawdust Hearts

Discover a military textile tradition which goes back centuries and find out about how they were linked to the origins of occupational therapy .  You can find out more about the nationwide 2019 project Sawdust Hearts in this short video the group have produced.  Join us on the 9th May between 10.30-12noon to craft your own textiles to commemorate VE day (£1.50 per person)

Your Stories is a co-curated community display, created by local community groups with the support of museum staff. Your Stories offers societies, charities, sports clubs or other groups an opportunity to share their experiences of north-west Essex in the museum.

If you would like to get involved with the Your Stories project, please contact the museum. You will be given advice and on-going support to create your own display within the museum. Displays usually run for one year.
