Tailor-made visits

If the topic you wish to study does not appear on our list of workshops, please contact our Learning Officer Gemma Tully on 01799 510644 or email gtully@uttlesford.gov.uk to find out whether a session could be designed especially for your class.

World Cultures Collections

Our internationally famous World Cultures Collections include artefacts from Africa, the Americas, Australia, China and Japan. A selection of these objects is on display in our ‘Worlds of Man’ gallery, while others can be requested for use in study sessions, for example art and design workshops. Please contact the Learning Officer for further details.

Outreach Visits

Our Learning Officer can visit your school with a range of objects from our teaching collections. These sessions are charged at the normal workshop rate and can be based around a topic of your choice, subject to availability.

Loan Boxes

We have a variety of school loan boxes that can be borrowed for half a term or a term for a fee of £10. Human history boxes include Victorians and Romans (please contact GemmaTully on 01799 510644. Natural history loan boxes include a range of birds and mammals, a fossil loan box and a rock and mineral loan box (please contact Sarah Kenyon on 01799 510641.

Your school will be responsible for collecting and returning the box, and its insurance and security once the box has left museum premises.
